I passed by this bookstore accidentally and was so excited to know there was a local bookstore close to my house! I went with my best friend a few days later and although it is very small, it was so cozy and welcoming. I was purchase the next book in the series I’m reading for $3.00! WHAT A BARGAIN!!!!! They sell a mix of new and donated books. I also learned that they host events so I’m looking forward to those those as well! 🥰

Fantastic local bookshop. This, James les livres, and buho are more of what we need in our RGV cities. Fostering literacy and culture, they are located in walkable neighborhoods that will eventually be even more fleshed out and filled with humane amenities. I'm excited to see the future of this store, and it's counterparts, all flourish and succeed in the future as a sign of what was to come. Great places. Friendly staff and a nice little selection of books.

Great independent bookstore! I wish there were more of these bookstores in the RGV. It’s located in a small venue and kind of hidden. But. Once you find it and go in, you want to return time and time again. Great selection of books and media. I try to go there at least once a month to check what’s new. Support your local businesses. AND more importantly your local indy bookstores!

Im impressed on all of the cool selection. A lot of the books were in my wish list. Everything makes sense in this bookstore. It is really a cool one! Will definitely come again everytime I visit McAllen

Love this little book store. It has a little bit of everything. Have had great help with picking books based on what I like and has great vibes. A safe space for everyone.

Ante is one of my favorite places in the RGV, and I’m so happy we have this bookstore/safe space. The staff is amazing and truly some of the best people I’ve ever met! It’s LGBTQ+ friendly and just one of the coziest spots ever.

Super cool bookstore, if a bit hidden. Local authors section (and occasional author events) as well as a surprising variety of new and used books. Area for art maker space/creation station for such events too! Comfy and unique furniture is a nice bonus.Very friendly and knowledgeable owners. Parking around side of building in the alley.

I'm glad to have Ante Books in my town. This is a true safe haven where you can find unique books on a wide range of topics, from fiction to non-fiction. I love the vibe; the staff is really friendly, and although I haven’t been able to attend their events and workshops, I look forward to visiting the place and discovering new reads. I have a very particular taste for my books, and Ante has somewhat curated their selection around it. They also support local talent, other businesses, and local projects. This is the place where the little details speak volumes, such as the stamp they use on their paper bags or the cute, nostalgic decorations around the place. And besides books and other finds, they also have lots of cool stickers.
